Finishing up with Botany, Starting afresh with Chinese New Year

These past couple of weeks have been a blur of activity in out house.

There has been, Skating (my children like to use the ramps while everyone else is at school...cheeky but i can understand why they like having the skate park to themselves)
Even iv been tempted to a bit of rollerblading.

Gypsie, Eva and i had a long walk up to the windmill and through the woods.

Gypsies been very creative , shes been feeling a little off colour for the last week of so but has been producing many a work of art.

The moon sand that she got for Christmas also seems a big hit right now!
Gypsie also made this beautiful beeswax dipped candle.
There has been candle lit stories.

Yesterday we finally finished or botany project.
We looked at Roses and Nettles.

We looked closely at tea coffee and sugar, discussing how and where each one is grown .

We had a mini tea party afterwards to celebrate!
Today we have began a short block about Chinese New Year. We all painted a front page for the project.
Here's a close up of Jasmine's dragon...

 Gypsie opted for Chinese lanterns.
Summer painted a goat (her zodiac sign)

Yep...i did one too...didn't want to feel left out...ha ha
On the next page we wrote about our zodiac signs and discussed how accurate a description of us they were.

Then we listed or drew pictures of all 12 zodiac years.

We finished up with me reading aloud a story of how the years all got there special zodiac animal.

I will leave you with a picture of some scummy gingerbread men that summer decided to bake, my house smells great right now!!!
