michaelmas, diwali and more

I seem to be spending most of my time cuddling and feeding my gorgeous bundle and she is thriving on it.Her weight gain is great and shes usually very happy and content and shes capable sleeping up to 8 hours at night which is just amazing!

here she is enjoying her snuggles!

Due to all this snuggling a week or two , ok maybe nearly three has passed since my last blog and now I'm at the stage where i don't know what to share n what not to share............

Here's a little of what we have been up too.

we r taking a more Waldorf style approach to out home ed days , we already enjoy nature and crafts and love to celebrate festivals and it seemed like we were leaning towards this style of learning without even knowing it.

This September we celebrated our first ever Michaelmas.

Michaelmas is a holiday held on September 29, with Christian religious origins, and pagan roots of celebrating the Autumn Equinox. It’s linked to the end of the harvest, the beginning of the shorter and darker days that follow, and to references regarding the actions of the archangel Michael, who is said, around this time to have expelled Lucifer from Heaven.
archangels earthly counterpart is s.t George hence the dragon theme that ran through our day!

we baked some delicious dragon bread.

 Made some paper dragons .

I  am having serious issues with the girls continually arguing so i thought it may be a good idea to slay some of our own dragons .quite simply whilst eating our dragon bread we thought about all the bad things that we were doing, the arguing, fighting teasing e.c.t and then i set light to them!

As yet there s been no real benefits...the squabbling continues unfortunately! Still it was worth a try i guess...........

I found this lovely poem which i wrote upon our blackboard.

So what else have we been up to......

Gypsie and Summer have been horse riding with a friend, Jasmine is obsessed with roller blading ,theres been plenty of baking, bread, cakes , pasties and this cheesecake too.......

theres also  been autumn  treasure hunts,

trips to the beach .....
we have planted daffodil bulbs

  Been sewing felt birds,
 decoupages some old glass jars,

and made delicious chocolate coated apples ,

Summer and Gypsie made some beautiful birthday cards for their friend ,

we have started to take a look a Diwali over the past couple of days and we made these diva lamps from salt dough.

oh and on the subject of light here are the pictures of the floating candles as promised in my last post.

much love to you all...thanks for reading! xxx
